Baliqis Olukade
Neuroscience Researcher | Doctoral Student, University of South Florida
Baliqis is a neuroscience researcher in training, currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of South Florida. In her doctoral program, she joined the Blair Lab to investigate the role of molecular chaperone protein with co-chaperone involved in tauopathy models. She is also interested in developing brain metric systems and tools to evaluate human aging processes through neural network–based approaches, as well as using cognitive assessments to measure memory during aging.
A deeper understanding of the biological mechanisms driving AD informs her data-driven approach to theoretical neuroscience, where she applies computational methodologies to complement her background in physiological markers.
She is passionate about improving therapeutic decision-making in medical science research and committed to fostering knowledge-sharing within the scientific community. Enthusiastically, she embraces continuous learning, collaboration, and peer mentoring.
She enjoys listening to research discussions, learning from others, and networking.
Teaching & Outreach
Driven by my passion for teaching, I currently serve as a Basic Medical Science Lecturer at Olive International College of Naturopathic Medicine (OICNM). In this role, I contribute to shaping the academic experience of students and have had the honor of introducing a guest speakers, at the OICNM Convocation Ceremony in 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria.
